LPP is a nonprofit organization dedicated to cannabis criminal justice reform. LPP was founded out of the belief that if anyone is able to profit and build wealth in the legal cannabis industry, those individuals must also work to release and rebuild the lives of those who have suffered from cannabis criminalization.

Take Action

The Last Prisoner Project focuses on three key criminal justice reform initiatives: prisoner release, record clearing through clean slate initiatives, and reentry programs. A core focus of LPPs criminal justice work is to release incarcerated cannabis prisoners. Data shows, however, that most released prisoners fail without the proper resources in place. A criminal record can be a significant barrier to employment, housing, financial assistance, and more, which is why LPP works to advocate for broad and automatic clean slate initiatives. Additionally, reentry programs work to reduce recidivism rates by providing the resources, support, and education our constituents need upon release. Collectively these programs help cannabis prisoners become fully free.
